14th October 2007

I'm on a coach with my girlfriend. It seems to be a very long trip to wherever we're going. The coach trip even involves going on a short ferry trip. Midway, we get bored, since the coach isn't comfortable and the driver is miserable. We decide to get off.

We're in a small town. I've no idea where it is, but I get the feeling I've been there before. Our friend Neil Luckett is with us. He's rather excited as he's descovered something and wants us to go and see.

We follow Neil into an old Tudor house and manage to gate-crash a funeral. People there are crying as they watch a very old, silent home movie. We apologise. Neil leads up some old winding stone steps and tells us it won't be far. We climb out onto the roof with him and there's a magnificent view across a massive city. In the middle stands a giant statue of a disfigured girl.

9th October 2007

I'm in my local branch of Marks and Spencer. I'm sitting at a large table opposite my sister...except she's not my sister. She tells me to stop following her, which I wasn't anyway.

I go to the train station and in the shop, where I pick up a couple of chocolate bars. When the man rings them through the till, they come to £9-something. I tell him that can't be right, so he puts them through again. The second time, they come to £11-something.

I don't remember the train journey, but I arrive in London. I'm at the front of a room which looks like The Royal Festival Hall. I'm here to see Pere Ubu. David Thomas comes on stage, looking like a giant waiter. He makes some vocal noises into his mic. There is no music. Behind him, a man with a moustache pushes a piano on and off stage.

8th October 2007

I'm on a train station and it's really crowded. I'm on my way home from somewhere. There's an important announcement over the PA system. We're told the out of print Tim Buckley albums 'Blue Afternoon' and 'Starsailor' are getting CD reissues.

This news excites me. The announcement continues: "...for copyright and legal reasons all of Tim's vocals will be re-recorded by Peter Hitch and Peter Williamson".

7th October 2007

I'm on a train. I've no idea where I'm going. I see a place I recognise, so I get off. I'm not sure where I am. Eventually, I make it home and my girlfriend is in the bedroom with the TV on. The John Hughes film 'Some Kind Of Wonderful' has just started.

"I'm not watching this", she says, "It's got Belinda Carlisle in it".
I tell her it's not Belinda Carlisle, it's Lea Thompson. "Y'know, the mum from 'Back To The Future".
She shouts, "It's Belinda fucking Carlisle, I tell you" and she turns the TV off.
